Radiant | Paris seeks to expose the romantic energy coursing beneath the skin of the City of Light.
Lucien’s mentor took him to Paris for five days, and in that time challenged Lucien to see the world through the lens of his heart.
Like with my other fine art exhibitions, Radiant | Paris ties in to my The Gospel of Wolves (TGoW) stories.
In this instance, the Radiant | Paris pieces are created through the eyes of TGoW character Lucien Karr. As a birthday gift, Lucien’s mentor took him to Paris to expose him to art on a deeper level. To convince Lucien that to be an artist is to be forever curious and to see the things the rest of the world can’t until he shows it to them.
The Radiant | Paris images were all taken in over a seven day vacation in Paris, France in June of 2017. This is the first formal collection of images all taken overseas.
ILLUSION VS. REALITY
Each image on display began as a photograph, so why don’t they look like photographs?
We all look at the world through our own individual filters. Our past experiences, beliefs, even our moods play a part in how we look at the world around us and it’s through that approach that we interpret things.
I call my art Expressionist Photography because I don’t limit myself to simply recording a moment in time as is. Instead, I process each individual photo so that it imparts the personal feelings each image brings up in me.
I think there is a certain magic we lose when we stop imagining and it’s that magic that keeps us young and vibrant.
My hope is that this collection takes you someplace open, free and beautiful.
